Angela Lees came to the Pacific Northwest from San Diego by way of sampling mountain life in every ski resort throughout the United States. She studied print making at the Art Institute in San Francisco but dropped out because she didn’t like the internal politics with other departments considering the printmakers as “weird”. She moved to Eugene, Oregon and began working at a bead store. She eventually graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in art history and religious studies.
She’s been making jewelry for 25 years since working at the bead shop. She is inspired by the Art Nouveau and the Arts and Craft movement, and fascinated by international tribal adornments. Angela loves playing with Upcycled junk and copper plating organic materials.
Her art can be seen in her Etsy shop and in various shows throughout the Pacific Northwest.
