Born in Chicago, I earned my bachelor’s degree from the Art Institute of Chicago. I studied many forms & disciplines, ultimately, focusing on functional art. Musical instruments, jewelry, and costumes all have one thing in common – my finished piece goes on to become an expressive vehicle for another. I came to the Pacific Northwest via California. I adore this lush green world and the generous nature of all the artists I’ve met since moving here.
The first group of artisans who welcomed me with open arms was the Portland Bead Society. Its members have been a wellspring of support and inspiration, nurturing my lifelong love of beadwork. I’m excited to create works reflecting my particular experience & aesthetic style for use by bead artists and other jewelers.
I first carve my pieces in hard wax and make molds to press polymer or ceramic clay into the mold. Each piece is individually detailed. I also offer works of colored pencil on copper; a natural fit with beadwork.
