Nothing gives me more pleasure than watching an Osprey perched on a high branch over a river, or a pod of whales breaching the surf. Lucky for me I live in a city surrounded by nature parks, and wilderness areas. There are times when I worry that we are not doing enough to protect these spaces for the animals who live there, and the people who enjoy them. My art is, in part, a response to this concern.

The sculptures that I create combine animals, plants, & human objects as a reminder of our interconnectedness. A cat standing on a book, or a woman riding a polar bear are my way of keeping optimism and humor alive while addressing issues that I care deeply about.
