Since my very first bowl in 2004, I have had a passion for making pottery. I learned at a community studio in San Francisco, and I fed my first pot to the raku fire. It came out with a single magical, coppery-turquoise spot that sparkled in the sunlight. My-otherwise-perfectionist-self realized the uniqueness of that mark was more captivating than anything I could have ever set out to create. I was immediately hooked and wanted to make something beautiful for everyone I knew.
After years of hopscotching the country and creating pottery in different places with other artists, my appreciation for this art has only continued to grow and develop. I love experimenting with various clays, glazes, techniques, and firing methods to discover my favorites. My current aesthetic can be described as thoughtful, functional pieces with a balance of colors.
I hope that all of my work conveys the intention and love I put into them, and it brings others the same joy I felt in seeing my first piece.
