ARTIST STATEMENT

I've always liked to work with my hands. Working with clay; it's texture, it's possibilities, and it's boundaries, is the most enjoyable thing I have found to do. I try to make the pleasure I feel evident in the things that I make.

My work is always changing as I try new ideas, new techniques. It is mostly wheel-thrown, but I enjoy hand building. I like to add texture, pattern, and whimsy to my pieces. I fire to cone 6 using food safe glazes I make myself.

I do not sell online. My studio, located at 15785 SE Heidi Ln., Damascus 97089 will be open 10am-4pm, Apr. 30-May 2. My work can be seen at the Potter's Vineyard Winery Mar-May. I will be in the Damascus Open Studio May 14-16.
