Jenny Poston began working in ceramics following a career in interior design and lighting design. Jenny studied architecture at the University of Arizona and Industrial Design at the Rhode Island School of Design.
After moving to Portland, Oregon in 2015, Jenny's passion for ceramics was sparked after accidentally buying the wrong type of clay for a design project. The project was ultimately salvaged, but the mistake launched Jenny on a quest to learn about ceramics.
In her studio, she is busy creating objects and exploring new design possibilities. Her art forms are inspired by nature, modernism, brutalist architecture as well as from her other creative pursuits in macro photography, drawing, and watercolors. The underlying thread running through her creations is the embodiment of quietude, balance, and form. Her sculptural pieces are wheel-thrown or hand-built using stoneware and porcelain clay.
Her work is available through her website and visits to her studio by appointment.
