Now What?! Pottery Works
Hillsboro , Oregon
Now What?! Pottery Works is made up of two people, Lela Blyler (She/Her/Hers), and Nick Orozco (He/Him/His). Lela makes full time, and Nick is our firing tech, although he makes as well. Our goal to make pottery that is not just functional, but a joy to use.
We met in 2013 at Humboldt State University where we were both studying ceramics. Lela graduated in 2017 with a BA in Studio Art and Art History. She's inspired by vintage floral textiles, sassy sayings, and Korean Celadon pottery. Nick is inspired by local clay, firing, chemistry and Japanese Bizen pottery. Our work is made to compliment each other, while still maintaining our own individual style.
All work is made out of cone 10 or locally dug material. Most is wheel thrown, decorated with slips and cobalt, glazed and fired in a gas reduction kiln to cone 10.
You can find our work on our Etsy site, at the Radius Annex in Portland and at Ernie and Gray in Salem, Oregon. We also take custom orders.
