ARTIST STATEMENT
Meg Turner is a teacher, artist and herbalist. A lifelong interest in working with clay led her to the Oregon Potters Association when she moved to Oregon from California in 2005. She enjoys hand building and throwing clay pieces and now has her own studio at home where she plans to begin teaching classes in the near future.
Meg's work reflects the rich diversity of her natural home at the rim of Mt. Hood wilderness area. She enjoys incorporating elements of natural material in her textured pieces that also use glazes, stains, and underglazes to bring the elemental world to life. When possible, Meg also enjoys woodfiring, and plans to return to them soon, after the COVID-19 break.
