My childhood was spread out over the US, finally ending up going to Ohio University in Athens, studying art and psychology. I took ceramics as part of a three discipline focus for my BFA, and something clicked.
I moved to Oregon in 1998 on a whim (with my now-husband). While working, I signed up for a pottery class to reconnect with my creative self. It would take another ten years of playing with clay with friends, volunteering to teach clay at my kids’ school, and making ceramic gifts, to focus on my growth as a ceramic artist.
I love texture. Especially textures that evoke memories. Many of my pieces incorporate impressions of old fibers in porcelain, highlighted with the use of underglazes and glazes. Floral themes show up in my work as well.
I love to make useful, beautiful things: Everyday goodies...things for simple daily rituals.
I currently sell on Etsy, and post on Instagram (where I also sell via direct message).
