ARTIST STATEMENT

My vases are more than flower vessels. I think of them as "little pieces of table
architecture." They work as decorative objects even when empty. I throw on the wheel.

I alter and stretch my vases causing cracks on the surface. It gives a rough and weathered feel to the surface to remind one of ancient artifacts. I decorate using intense contrasting colors influenced by 15th Century Asian Indian miniature paintings.

I prefer selling on my Etsy shop. https://www.etsy.com/market/scotcameronbellpdx
You may find my works at Guardino Gallery, Portland, Side Street Arts Gallery, Portland, and
Stark Street Studios Gallery, Portland, Ore..
