Trillium Fiber Arts
I grew up learning crafts and later received formal training in architecture - one flexible, one more structured. After learning the craft of weaving, I knew that I wanted to find a way to create art work.
Weaving is structured and I love to push the bounds of it by incorporating interesting things like rocks, fused glass and jewelry. This brought me to the world of fiber arts which gives me the opportunity to combine these objects into pieces I call “Rungs” which are series of woven panels with steps of connected interesting things. I also like to apply other fiber art and craft methods like encaustics, stitching and beading on top of or within the woven fiber.
I still weave more traditional items such as colorful throws and duel purpose sachets where the scented pouches can be removed so the pieces can be used as a pocket purse.
