I’ve been weaving with great enthusiasm for over 13 years on an 8-shaft Kessinich loom. I usually develop my own unique designs, with both pattern and color as equal sources of interest. As a retired linguist, it pleases me that my ability to parse complex patterns continues to benefit me in my weaving life.
Natural fibers like silk, wool, linen and cotton are paramount in my work, and I dye much of my yarn with natural dyes. Very fine yarns are my favorites to weave with, especially in scarves and shawls. For household items—dish towels, placemats, table runners—thirsty cotton is my preference.
During the spring sale, I will hold an outdoor open studio on the weekend of May 1-2. You are also welcome to contact me to make other arrangements to view my designs.
