ARTIST STATEMENT

Like many other glass artists, my journey began over 45 years ago with stained glass. Countless suncatchers and panels later my interest was drawn to the “newer” technique of glass fusing. Approximately 25 years later I find myself still deeply involved in that art form. I continue to enjoy exploring new ideas and techniques and sharing the knowledge I have gained with a loyal group of students at my fully equipped studio in Hillsboro, Oregon.

I feel fortunate that my life has been enriched by this journey in glass. It has given me the opportunity for travel nationally and internationally to learn from artists whose work I admire. My students and the many others I have met along the way have made my life more complete.

The glass pieces I create reflect my love of nature and the beauty to be seen everywhere in our daily travels. The creation of flowers in glass panels and garden art or completing a landscape scene are challenges that I continually enjoy.
