I was born in Maine and came to Oregon in 1974. I became fascinated with color by watching my mother paint black & white photos. I dabbled in fabric arts, quilting, embroidery, sewing, and stenciling. In 2000 I took a stainless class then a fuse glass class and never looked back.
I find inspiration for my work in the world around me and in teaching art to young children. I will cut glass then may use glass powders, small pieces of glass called frit, organic materials, metal inclusions, enamel paints, and water to create the designs. It then goes into a kiln to become one piece. Many layers and firings may take place to create the depth I want.
I sell through my website fusedglassartwork.com, through the PNWGG.org members gallery page, and at other venues.
